Reggie Moody

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Reginald “Reggie” Taylor Moody, age 73, passed Thursday morning, September 3, 2026 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Reggie was born in June 1953 in Harriman, Tennessee. He graduated from Harriman High School in 1971 and from Tennessee Technological University in 1978 with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology. After college, he briefly resided in Murfreesboro but soon returned to Cookeville Tennessee where he lived and worked for Villa Brothers Rental and most recently O’Reilly Auto Parts. Reggie was a dedicated and diligent worker, well-liked by coworkers as well as customers.

Reggie loved working on and being around automobiles. He was particularly fond of early to mid 20th century classic cars. He was an avid hunter, gun enthusiast and enjoyed riding his Harley and tending his vegetable garden. Reggie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harriman, Tennessee.

Above all, Reggie will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He is survived by his wife, Tammy McCloud Moody, with whom he shared over 29 years of marriage.

He also leaves behind his mother, Margaret Moody of Frankfort, KY; children, step son, Joshua Key; grandchildren, Haylie Blevins (Landon Harvey) and Breanna Blevins of Kentucky, Addy Kress, Brennen Key, Cutler Key and Dallye Key of Cookeville; brother, Keith Moody and wife, Gail, of Georgetown, KY; Cheryle Copeland of Indiana; brothers and sisters in-law, Gail and Meredith Williams, Nell Clark, Debbie and Richard Norrod and Brenda Melton of Monterey and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Moody; brothers in-law Rick Melton and John Thomas Clark of Monterey; father and mother in-law Dewayne Mccloud and Eula Ray Mccloud of Monterey.

Funeral services will be held Sunday September 6, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home (59 N Jefferson Ave). Pastor Tony Phipps will officiate. Interment will follow at Sand Springs Cemetery, Monterey, Tennessee.

His family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and again Sunday from 1:00 pm until time of service at the Cookeville Chapel
