COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Rhoda Flatt, a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 9, 2026, at the Grandview Nursing Facility in Cookeville. Born on September 10, 1937, in Maury County, Tennessee, Rhoda lived a life marked by love, care, and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Rhoda dedicated 39 years of her life to Tennessee Tech University, where she served faithfully in the Business Affairs Office before retiring. Her commitment to the university was profound, and she held a special place in her heart for all things Tennessee Tech.
A faithful Christian, Rhoda was a devoted member of the Jere Whitson Road Church of Christ, where her strong faith and biblical wisdom was a guiding force throughout her life. Her character was marked by a generous and caring nature, qualities that endeared her deeply to family and friends.
Rhoda is survived by her sons, Rocky (Beth Ann) Davidson, and Ronnie (Denise) Davidson; her brother, Charles (Karen) Wrenn; her sister-in-law, Charlotte Wrenn; and her grandchildren Rochelle (Lance) Mason, Ross Davidson, Dawson Davidson, and Porter (Kate) Davidson. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Lezak, Landry, and Lofton Mason, as well as Briggs, Rowan, and Wrenn Davidson. Additionally, Rhoda is survived by her step-children Ronald Flatt, and John Wayne (Paula) Flatt, and her step-grandchildren Josh, Adam, and Sarah Flatt. The family cherishes the memories they share and the enduring legacy Rhoda leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Cook Wrenn and Virginia Dark Wrenn; her husband, James Flatt; and her brother, Winston Wrenn.
Visitation for friends and family will be Thursday, May 14 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m at the Cookeville Chapel. A funeral service to honor Rhoda will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday May 14 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Jason Gentry will officiate. Rhoda will be laid to rest at Algood City Cemetery.
Rhoda Flatt’s life was one of devotion-to her family, her faith, her career, and her community. She will be remembered with deep respect and affection, her generous spirit continuing to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
