COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - A funeral mass for Mr. Ricky E. Alberson, age 64 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Ricky Alberson was born on August 11, 1961, in Taft, California. He peacefully passed away on Sunday March 1, 2026, in Cookeville, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, determination, and love for his family.
With a career that spanned 40 years, Ricky was self-employed in the telecommunications industry His strong-willed nature and self-taught expertise allowed him to thrive in his endeavors, garnering the respect of colleagues and clients alike. He took great pride in his work, passionately contributing to the field throughout his life.
A proud veteran, Ricky served his country in the United States Army, embodying the values of dedication and service. He enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and fishing, and had a deep appreciation for music. These pursuits enriched his life and brought him joy, shaping his character as someone who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.
Ricky is mourned by his loving wife of 25 years, Barbara Droke Alberson, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His family includes his sons, Kyle Alberson and Richard Alberson, a daughter, Kathryn (Michael) Scott and granddaughter Valyn Scott. He is also survived by his nephews, that include Freddie Myhre, David Carrington (Stephanie) and Matthew Droke (Krista), his nieces Adeena and Dorothy Jones and his sisters-in-law, Cynthia Levi (Robert) and Juanita Jones (David), along with his brother-in-law, Robert Droke (Debbie).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Shirley Alberson.
