BAXTER CHAPEL-Ronald George Stevens passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at his home in Baxter, Tennessee.  He was born on January 15, 1946, in Fredericktown, Missouri.

A man whose life began in Missouri and later carried him to Tennessee, Ronald was a graduate of Fredericktown, Missouri High School. That accomplishment marked an important chapter in his early years and remained part of the story of a life rooted in home, community, and the experiences that shaped him. He served in the National Guard 1967-1974. He was of the Catholic faith.

Ronald retired from Farmington Community Hospital (now Parkland Health Center) in Farmington.  He moved to Putnam County, Tennessee four years ago.

Ronald enjoyed playing golf and watching football on TV especially the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved watching westerns and the old TV shows. He enjoyed yard work and listening to southern gospel and older country music.

He is survived by his daughter, Tamara Beckman of Baxter; his sister, Debbie Cheatham and her husband John of Missouri; and his nieces, Melissa, Tracie and Jackie.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Ford Wayne Stevens and Virginia Buckner Stevens; the mother of his daughter, Sharon Wright; and his second wife, Penelope Elrod.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Farmington, Missouri.

Ronald will be remembered with respect and gratitude by those who knew him and shared in his life.
