COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Ronnie Dale Hembree, age 78 of Cookeville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday September 9, 2025, at his residence in Cookeville. He was born on November 28, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio. Ronnie’s life was marked by dedication and service, as he retired from the Tennessee Army National Guard after many years of honorable service. Following his military career, he went on to work at Dacco in Cookeville, where he also eventually retired.
Throughout his life, Ronnie was known for his gentle spirit. He preferred a quiet life and often found joy in spending time on his houseboat, indulging in the tranquility of nature. His faith was an important aspect of his life, and he was a devoted member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.
Ronnie leaves behind several cousins, extended family and special friends at Longhorn's in Cookeville. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Paul Hembree and Oneta Bean Hembree, who were significant influences in his life.
A funeral service to honor Ronnie will be at 2 p.m. Monday September 29 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Gaw will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be Monday from 12 - 2 p.m.
