Ronnie Lee Jones

DYER CHAPEL-Ronnie Lee Jones, born on August 22, 1946, in Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Waters of Gainesboro in Gainesboro, Tennessee. He was a respected member of his community and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. No public services are planned.

Ronnie dedicated much of his life to serving others as a local truck driver , a profession that allowed him to traverse the vast landscapes of America, earning the respect and admiration of both his colleagues and those he served. His commitment to service extended beyond his truck driving career; he was a proud U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. Ronnie’s bravery and dedication during his military service as a Black Horse Trooper earned him the esteemed honors of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, testaments to his courage and resilience in the face of adversity.

In his personal life, Ronnie found joy in simple pleasures. He had a great love for watching westerns, a hobby that coupled his appreciation for storytelling with the rugged tales of the American frontier.  Ronnie was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his sister, Vila Bilbrey of Cookeville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him for his warmth, kindness, and the wisdom he shared throughout his life.

Ronnie joins his beloved family in eternal rest, including his parents, John Harvey and Ethel Rebecca Tollison Jones; sisters, Betty Robinson and Nancy Stidham; brothers, Johnny and Arnold Jones; and half brothers, Bernice Jones and Carl Ed Pistole.

As we remember Ronnie Lee Jones, we celebrate a life filled with courage, compassion, and a profound sense of duty to his family, friends, and country. His legacy will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing him.
