COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Rosetta Darty Smith passed away Friday August 7, 2026 in Sayville, New York. Today, she celebrates her victory in Christ Jesus alongside her parents, two eldest sisters, Evangelist Mrs. Mary Darty Genwright and Evangelist Mrs. Billie Darty Smith and sister in law, Mary Darty.

Evangelist Rosetta Darty Smith was born on March 8, 1945 in Algood, Tennessee to Rev. A.C. Darty and Missionary Winnie Smith Darty. After graduating from high school, Rosetta attended Tennessee Tech and Ohio State University. She moved to New York City following her two eldest sisters, the late Evangelist Mary Darty Genwright and her living sister, Evangelist Mrs. Joanne Darty Mitchell. In New York City, she served as a dynamic Sunday school teacher at St. Luke Power House on 166th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, the church pastored by her sister's husband Pastor Harrison Mitchell. Professionally, she dedicated her career to working nights in the banking industry.

Throughout her life, she endured various trials with grace. When her nephew, Rev. Harrison Mitchell, started his ministry, Under Unity, she was there to support him. She was also a talk show host on MNN.ORG in New York City on Tuesdays at 1:30 PM, and on Long Island Cable TV on Tuesdays at 6:00 PM Christay Amouray Fellowship, (AKA) Cheeka's7 Chats. Several years later Evangelist Rosetta suffered an heart attack, she was treated in June 2026 at Stony Brook Hospital in Smithtown, New York, where she received a pacemaker.

She leaves behind her eldest brothers, Elder John Darty, Rev. James (Teresa) Darty, and Deacon A.C. (Sandra) Darty; her sister, Evangelist Joann Darty Mitchell; and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.'" - John 11:25-25.

"The dead in Christ rise first, then living believers are caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.

"A mystery where believers are changed instantly into immortal bodies in the twinkling of an eye." - 1 Corinthians 15:51-53.

Amen, Be blessed of the Lord, and may His love surround you all the days of your life.

Graveside services for Rosetta will be held Saturday August 22, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the Algood Heritage Cemetery with Raymond Darty officiating. Thank you for celebrating the life of this Christian warrior.
