DYER CHAPEL-Rowland "Roger" Lutz, Jr., age 73, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and accomplished quality engineer, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on April 21, 1952, in Washington DC, Roger was a graduate of Ohio State University, where he laid the foundation for a career marked by dedication and expertise.
Roger’s professional journey as a quality engineer reflected his meticulous nature and commitment to excellence. Beyond his work, he nurtured a passionate enthusiasm for cars. He treasured participating in MOPAR events and took great pride in restoring his cherished Dodge A100.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Lutz of Cookeville, who stood by his side with unwavering support and affection. Roger was a devoted father to his son, Eric Myers of Cookeville, and his daughter, Ashley (Nate) Kitzis of Cookeville, both of whom carry forward his legacy of kindness and integrity. He found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Addisyn and Wyatt Kitzis, whose presence brought light and happiness to his later years. Roger’s family also included his sister, Dana Sederoff of Indianapolis, Indiana, who shared in many heartfelt moments throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rowland Roger Lutz and Ruth Marie Meyer Lutz, whose memories he cherished deeply.
A Memorial Service is being planned for a later date.
