Rozelle Bush

COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Mrs. Rozelle Bush, age 87 of Cookeville, will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 at 11:00am in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. James Rogers will officiate. Interment will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends Sunday 4:00pm to 8:00pm and again Monday from 9am until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bush died Wednesday April 12, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 9, 1936 in Cookeville, TN to the late Marshal "Hodges" Stockton and Ella Pervis Wilmoth Stockton.

She was employed at First Tennessee Bank for 36 years as the head of the bookkeeping department and as a vice president, retiring in the early 2000s. She also worked and enjoyed life on the family farm alongside her husband and sons. Mrs. Rozelle was always willing to help, and if not helping, was asking to help. She was a loving grandmother and a most excellent cook, her family cherished her weekly Thursday evening family dinners. She was concerned with others and the wellbeing of her friends and family.

She was a longtime member of Smyrna Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Bonnie Thrasher and Cora Buff.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, James William Bush: sons, Barry Bush and Gary (Sue) Bush; brother, Ensor (Nelda) Stockton; grandchildren, Derek (Brittany) Bush, Stephen Bush, Lacey (Matt) Piland, Josh Bush and J.P. Bush; great grandchildren, Ella Bush, James Bush and Bret Piland; and by a host of nieces and nephews.

Derek Bush, Stephen Bush, Josh Bush, J.P. Bush, and Matt Piland will serve as pallbearers.
