COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Ruby Culver, a cherished and devoted member of her community and family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 8, 2026, at Signature Health Care of Putnam County in Cookeville, Tennessee. Born on June 16, 1930, in Anniston, Alabama, Ruby lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and steadfast faith.

Ruby faithfully retired from Kroger after more than 30 years of service, a testament to her commitment and work ethic. Beyond her career, she was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Moulton, Alabama, where she nurtured her spirit and connected deeply with her community.

Throughout her life, Ruby found immense joy in her family, especially her grandchildren. Her love and devotion extended across generations, embracing great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and even great-great-great-grandchildren, who will continue to carry forward her legacy of love.

Ruby is survived by her beloved daughters, Pat Wilson (and her husband Steve) and Carol Welch (and her husband Butch), both residing in Cookeville. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and many extended family members who cherish her memory profoundly, especially her pride and joy, her little dog "Rosie".

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin and Rosa Bowen Thompson; her husband, Perry Denson Culver; and her son, Bobby Stubbs; adopted daughter, Deborah Thompson; step-daughters, Phyllis Wilson Sanborn and Patsy Culver, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

A private funeral service will be held at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner with Rev. Chip Hunter officiating..

Entombment will follow on Wednesday April 15, 2026 at 12:00 pm in the Burningtree Memorial Gardens, 4919 Marsha Avenue, Decatur, Alabama 35603.

Ruby Culver’s life was a remarkable journey of faith, family, and dedication. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her and were blessed by her presence. Those who grieve celebrate the rich legacy she leaves behind, a legacy built on love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to those she held dear.
