Ruth Goney

Funeral services for Mrs. Allie Ruth Goney, 78 of Algood will be held Wednesday June 27 at 11 a.m. in the Algood Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. Rev. Richard Bond, Pastor Eddie Turner and Pastor Jack Homesley will officiate. As family surrounded their mother and nanny early Sunday morning June 24, 2012, she went home to her heavenly father. She was born December 10, 1933 in Smith County, Tennessee to the late Charles Alexander and Emma Hatfield Robinson. Mrs. Goney was a retired associate with Tutco with 26 years of service. She attended Algood Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter H. Goney; sister, Clara Linville, brother, Alex Robinson, and two sons-in-law, Randall K. Lynn and Chester Finley. Survivors include her daughters and a son-in-law, Rita Finley of Cookeville and Shawna & Bryan Whitefield of Algood; son and daughter-in-law, Walt & Lynne Goney of Huntersville, NC; five grandchildren, Shannon (Bridget) Smith, Wendy (Carl) Dale, Justin (Stephanie) Randolph all of Cookeville, Dustin Whitefield of Algood, and Stacey Craig of Huntersville, NC; ten great grandchildren, Christian Smith, Ali Smith, Slade Dale, Layne Dale, Blake Randolph, Brayden Randolph, Bryant Randolph, Dawson Craig, Joannie Loftis and Kelly Teague; brother, Bob Robinson of Cookeville; and two sisters-in-law, Pearl Robinson of Rickman, and Dean Goney of Cookeville. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tutco Associates, Sue Eldridge, Brad and Rachel Cross, Charles Carr, Sam Warren, Highland Rim Home Health, Caris Hospice, Dr. John Nadeau and Dr. Audrey Tolbert. Active pallbearers will be Shannon Smith, Justin Randolph, Christian Smith, Dustin Whitefield, Slade Dale, Layne Dale, Charles Tolbert, and Rick Smith. Mrs. Goney"�s family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer"�s Tennessee, 1459 Interstate Dr., Suite 211, Cookeville, TN 38501 The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
