Ruth Willene Winfree

BAXTER-Funeral services for Ruth Willene Taylor Winfree, 90 of Baxter, will be Wednesday, May 31 at 2 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 AM until service time at the funeral home. Bro. John Pippin will officiate.

Mrs. Winfree died Sunday May 21, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She was born October 2, 1932 in Putnam County, TN to the late William Elijah and Pearl Gentry Taylor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Nelson Winfree on March 25, 2010 and sisters Pauline Neill and Hilda Allen.

Willene graduated from Baxter Seminary and attended Tennessee Tech.

She was a member of Baxter Church of Christ and a homemaker.

Survivors include sons James "Jim" Winfree of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Steven Winfree of Baxter, grandchildren: Thomas Winfree, Timothy Winfree, Victoria Winfree Brockhaus, Kristina Winfree Henderson and Samantha Winfree, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
