COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Sharon Maddaloni, beloved member of the Cookeville community, passed away suddenly on Thursday August 20, 2026, at her residence in Cookeville, Tennessee. She was born on April 22, 1956, in Anchorage, Alaska, a place whose spirit she carried with her throughout her life.
During her seventy years, Sharon touched many lives with her warmth, kindness, and generosity. Her journey took her from the rugged beauty of Alaska to the welcoming hills of Tennessee, where she found a home and built lasting relationships. Those who knew her remember her as a person of integrity, compassion, and strength-a presence who brought comfort and light into the lives of those around her. Sharon’s legacy is felt deeply within the fabric of her community. While her loss is profoundly felt, her memory endures in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her ability to listen, her thoughtful nature, and her unwavering support for friends and neighbors will be remembered with gratitude.
Sharon is survived by her mother Ina Duke Searcy and her three daughters: Jennifer (Nick) Norris, Michelle Boles, and Kathryne Dillon. Sharon’s nurturing heart and unwavering encouragement guided her daughters through every stage of their lives, and her influence will forever be felt within her family. Her siblings, Michael (Debbie) Searcy and Michelle Maples, shared a close bond with Sharon and will cherish their memories together. Her grandchildren Colton, Jaxon, Peyton Matheney, Parker Norris, Savannah Gambrell, James Norris, and Grayson Boles brought her immense joy. Family meant everything to Sharon, and she delighted in every cherished moment spent with her loved ones.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father Robert Searcy.
Professionally, Sharon contributed her talents and positive energy to her work at Gabe’s, where she was known for her cheerful demeanor and welcoming nature. Her colleagues and those she served remember her as bright and happy, always warm and kind. Sharon was an active part of Life Church, finding strength and fellowship within her church community. Her deep faith was evident in her actions and her words; she truly loved Jesus and found meaning and hope in her spiritual journey. Sharon was a shining example of resilience, having triumphed as a breast cancer survivor.
Sharon’s interests reflected her love for life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. She had a special affinity for the beach, where she found peace and happiness in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun. At home, her affection for pets and her appreciation for a good cup of coffee brought comfort and joy to the everyday moments.
A private service will be held to honor her life next week. Details to be posted.
Though she will be greatly missed, Sharon Maddaloni’s spirit lives on in the kindness she shared and the lives she so graciously touched.
