COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Sherrie Ann Flatt, a beloved member of the Cookeville and Algood communities, passed away at her home on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the age of 66. She was born on April 22, 1958, in Putnam County. Sherrie Ann was dedicated to serving others and nurturing those around her with her caring nature.
Sherrie Ann had a notable career, having worked at TRW in Cookeville for over 15 years before transitioning into a role she held with great pride as the Algood City Recorder and Court Clerk for 13 years until her recent retirement. She was well-respected in her professional circles and was known for her commitment to her work and her community.
An honorable graduate, Sherrie Ann earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Tennessee Tech, where she graduated with accolades, Summa Cum Laude. Her educational achievements were a source of pride for her and laid a strong foundation for her successful career.
In her personal life, Sherrie Ann was a devoted wife to her husband Ron Flatt, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years. Their bond was an inspiration to many, and they enjoyed countless moments together. She is also survived by her son, Josh Flatt, who carries forward her legacy. Additionally, she is remembered by her half brother, Dewey Mullins.
Sherrie Ann's love extended beyond her family. She was an active member of Life Church and cherished the time spent tending to her flowering gardens. She had a passion for riding her bicycle around her community, where she would often be seen engaging with her neighbors.
A funeral service honoring Sherrie Ann will be at 1 PM Wednesday December 4 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Eddie Turner and Pastor Bobby Davis will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 AM until 1 PM. Sherrie Ann will be laid to rest at Algood City Cemetery.
Sherrie Ann's impact on those who knew her will not be forgotten. Her caring spirit and dedication to family, friends, and community will echo through the lives she touched.
