COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Steven Ryan Eldridge, a cherished friend to a great number of people, left this world to be with the Lord on Monday March 2, 2026 following a brave battle with cancer, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on July 29, 1981, in Cookeville, Steven lived life to the fullest, making the most of his time with his friends and family.
A proud graduate of Cookeville High School in 2000, Steven furthered his education at Tennessee Tech, developing lifelong friendships that he held dear and maintained. While at Tech, he was a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity, creating a lifelong bond of brotherhood.
He worked as a sales representative for Prairie Farms Dairy. He also liked to lend a hand on Saturdays at KWIK-KASH Pawn Shop, making him a familiar face in the community, and earning him the reputation of a good friend always willing to help.
Steven's love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies. He had a passion for hunting deer and turkey and an affinity for all things related to agriculture, particularly cows and bull riding. These hobbies not only brought him joy but also fostered connections with many who shared his interests, as were the fond memories he created with friends at his routine, weekly visits to the Highway 111 flea market.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife of almost nine years, Casey Martin Eldridge, and his beloved sons: Colton, Hunter, Asher, and Cooper. Steven's family was the most important to him and he adored his boys more than anything. He loved being a daddy and a husband. Steven was a son to Ronnie Eldridge (Donna) and Teresa Randolph (Mike) Hodges, a brother to Luke (Melissa) Eldridge, Jared (Cetera) Hodges, and Chris (Shelby) Hodges, and a cherished step-brother to Ashley (Deke) Waters and Tiffany Brown. He also held a special place in the hearts of his many aunts and uncles, including Tawnia Hodges, Kim Dyer, and Sandra Eldridge, as well as many cousins, including Jamie Demps, Jake Demps, and Lisa Eldridge.
Steven is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Glenda Randolph, paternal grandparents, CD and Sarah Martha Eldridge, and an uncle, Butch Eldridge.
A funeral service to honor Steven’s life will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday March 8 at Stevens Street Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 p.m. The community is invited to come together to pay their respects and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who meant so much and was loved by so many.
Luke Eldridge, Jared Hodges, Chris Hodges, Lane Mayberry, Doug Petralia, Chris Swallows, Derek Masters, Daniel Hawkins and Andy McGill will serve as pallbearers.
His family asks in lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to be made to an account set up to support Steven's boys at First National Bank of Tennessee, c/o: Casey Eldridge, 412 South Jefferson Avenue, Cookeville, TN 38501.
Steven's spirit, characterized by his strong opinions and a slightly stubborn streak, blended with his kindness and willingness to offer support, will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will endure in the hearts of his family and friends, especially in the laughter and love shared among them.
Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111. Share memories and condolences at www.hhhfunerals.com.
