Sue Mitchell

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Virginia Sue Mitchell, age 75 of Cookeville, passed away Tuesday September 15, 2026 at NHC of Cookeville with her family at her bedside. Sue was born June 9, 1951 in Martin, Tennessee to the late Walter Robert Baker and Virginia Louise Tarr Baker.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Dixon and her husband, George; son, Craig Wilkerson and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Bradley Steward and his wife Keistyn; Alex Dixon and his wife, Kayla, Payton Campbell and his wife Megan, and Logan Wilkerson; great-grandchildren, Capri Steward, Gracyn, Aleigha, Tatum, Mallie and Boone Dixon, Eliza Campbell; brothers, Jimmy Baker and his wife Fay, Glen Baker; and sister Dorothy Leach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Remi Jade Steward; and siblings, Georgia Barber, HB Baker, Mary Murphy, Bonnie Howell, Billy Baker, Shirley Gibbs, Robert Baker Jr., and Betty Hancock.

A memorial service to honor Sue will be at 11 a.m. Monday September 21 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Chase Fletcher will officiate. Visitation for friends and family will be Monday from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
