Tom dedicated his professional life to beverage and grocery sales, where he was known for his commitment and work ethic. He was a proud graduate of Long Beach State University in California, an accomplishment that underscored his determination to succeed.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Tom honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, stationed in Da Nang. His service was distinguished by the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Star, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. This experience left an indelible mark on his character, instilling values of perseverance and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.

A devoted family man, Tom shared over 51 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nikki, whom he married in 1973. Together they nurtured a loving home, raising two daughters, Jennifer Cool of Tallmadge, Ohio, and Emily (Hunter) Disbrow of Cookeville. His joy was further amplified by his role as a grandfather to Robbie and Brett. He leaves behind his sister, Dawn Perry Orrin and many nieces and nephews.

Tom's hobbies and interests included fishing, golf, and vegetable gardening. As a natural storyteller and jokester, he brought joy to many gatherings. His tales punctuated by his infectious sense of humor.

His faith was important in his life, and he found connection and community at Poplar Grove Baptist Church.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 3pm on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Cookeville City Cemetery with Pastor Jason Groe officiating.
