Thurman Raydean Lollar

DYER CHAPEL-Thurman Raydean "Ray" Lollar, born on April 15, 1940, in Baxter, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Charter Senior Living in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was a member of the Methodist faith, which guided him throughout his life.

A proud graduate of Tennessee Tech in 1962 with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Ray's early years were spent in Detroit where he moved at a young age. His journey included serving in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his dedication to his country. Following his military service, Ray embraced life with vigor; he had a profound love for the game of golf, often seen enjoying days on the golf course. Ray was a member of the Lions Club for many years.

Ray lived with his uncle, Elmer Lollar, and formed a strong bond with his family during those formative years.

A family man at heart, he is survived by his brother, Harold Lollar of Cookeville, and several cousins who cherished their time with him.

Ray was predeceased by his beloved parents, Thurman and Audrey Maxwell Lollar, his wife, Virginia Rankin Lollar, who passed away on June 20, 2018, and his siblings: brother David Lollar and sister Alvilda Lollar Rousseau Wright.

As we remember Ray, we celebrate an individual whose life was woven together by faith, family, and a passion for golf, leaving an enduring legacy for those who had the privilege to know him.

The family is following Ray’s wishes of cremation. No services are planned.

Dyer Chapel Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931)526-7158. Share condolences and memories at www.dyerfh.com
