COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - David Timothy Crenshaw, a dedicated healthcare professional and beloved family man, passed away on Monday April 13, 2026. Born on February 18, 1955, in Gainesville, Georgia, Tim’s life was marked by commitment, compassion, and a love for the simple pleasures that brought him joy.

After a distinguished career spanning 35 years, Tim retired from Emory Healthcare in 2017, where he served as the Chief Therapist of Radiation Oncology. His devotion to his work and the many patients he helped over the years earned him respect and admiration among his colleagues and the broader medical community. Tim’s professional life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to improving the lives of others through his expertise and compassionate care.

Outside of his professional achievements, Tim was a man who cherished his interests and the company of those close to him. A passionate enthusiast of bass and trout fishing, he found peace and happiness by the water, embracing moments of quiet reflection and connection to nature. Tim’s love extended to his faithful companion, his yellow lab named Cooper, who was a source of comfort and joy throughout his later years.

A devoted fan of sports, Tim avidly supported the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves, finding camaraderie and excitement in cheering for his favorite teams. These interests reflected his spirited personality and the joy he found in community and tradition.

Tim’s life was enriched by the family and friends who loved him. He is survived by his ex-wife and friend, Mary (McGrane) Crenshaw; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Katie Crenshaw; his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Lynn Crenshaw; and his niece and nephew, Natalie and Matt Crenshaw. In addition, Tim’s life was touched by numerous cousins and friends who shared in his journey and will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lela Bell (Kendall) Crenshaw, whose legacy he carried forward with honor and grace.
