ALGOOD-Funeral services for Mr. Swep ‘Tommy' Bilbrey, age 82, of Algood, will be held Monday September at 23rd at 4:00 p.m. at Algood United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors will follow at Algood City Cemetery. Rev. Albert Willis will officiate. His family will receive friends Monday from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Bilbrey passed away Friday afternoon, September 20, 2019 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. He was born August 8, 1937 in Crossville, TN to the late Robert Henry and Evelyn Anna Rector Bilbrey. He was an engineman in the United States Navy on board the USS Argonaut. He worked as a ‘jack of all trades' from mechanic, electrician, furniture maker, high school custodian, to many others in between. He influenced many people as a boy scout leader and being just a great friend to all in need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ruth Cass Bilbrey. He is survived by two sons, Jimmy (Mickey) Bilbrey of Algood, and Chip Bilbrey of Orlando, FL; two daughters, Tawnya Clark of Algood and Missy (Geoff) Morea of Fort Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Josh, Alexx, Nick, and Noah; and great grandson, Grayson.
