MONTEREY CHAPEL - Tony Roark, a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man, passed away peacefully at home on his beloved property in the hills of Tennessee on Friday December 19, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on April 26, 1948, in Winchester, Indiana, in Randolph County, Tony’s life was marked by his dedication to his profession and his family.
A retired journeyman machinist and tool and die operator, Tony was known for his exemplary craftsmanship and work ethic. His love for woodworking flourished in his workshop, where he created pieces that reflected not only his skill but also his passion for the craft. As a proud member of the Masonic Lodge of Randolph County, Indiana, Tony consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to the principles of brotherhood and service.
In the 1990s, Tony discovered his profound affection for Tennessee, igniting a dream within him to buy property in the mountains and retire there. In 2022, he realized this dream, moving to the picturesque hills of Tennessee, where he found peace and fulfillment.
Tony is survived by his loving children, Kathy Franks, Matt Roark, Julie Stair, and Joe Roark. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and delighted in the joy of four great-grandchildren. His family also includes a brother, Roy Roark (one of the 17 total children), showcasing the expansive legacy of the Roark family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Opha Mae Roark, as well as 15 siblings, who surely welcomed him with open arms. Tony’s life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and dreams realized, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy will endure in the hearts of his family and friends, who remember him not only for his accomplishments but also for the warmth he brought into their lives.
