Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Ann Gaw, age 77 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday May 12 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Rev. Mark Gaw and Bro. Buddy Johnson will officiate. Mrs. Gaw died Saturday morning May 9, 2015 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born August 31, 1937 in Overton County, Tennessee to the late Avadine Crabtree. Mrs. Gaw was a homemaker and a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She had life-long passion for gardening, especially with flowers and plants. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Alvin Shirley Gaw (whom she married June 19, 1953); son and daughter-in-law, Dr Randy and Katherine Gaw of Cookeville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah and Donny Meadows of Cookeville and Darlene Gaw of Cape Canaveral, FL; six grandchildren, Josh Meadows, Chelsea Gaw, Matthew Meadows, Abby Gaw, Bradford Gaw Killmon, and Lindy Kate Gaw; three sisters, Barbara (Lewis) Martin of Cookeville, Nancy (Roy)Klatzke of Columbus, MI and Judy Robertson of Newberry, MI; brother, David (Charmaine) Morley of Lafayette, LA; and special friend, Yvonne Meadows of Cookeville. Pallbearers will be Josh Meadows, Matthew Meadows, Bradford Gaw Killmon, Steve Woodcock, Glyn Goolsby, and Chris White. Mrs. Gaw's family will receive friends Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
