Wanda Sue Frizzell

Wanda Sue Frizzell, a beloved member of the community, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Bailey Manor in Cookeville at the age of 89. She was born on October 28, 1936, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to Edgbert and Cora Belle Putty Bean, who preceded her in death.

When in school, Wanda played volleyball. She was captain of the team. They were county champions. She dedicated many years of her life to her career as a supervisor at Red Kap, where she was known for her strong leadership and commitment to excellence. After retiring, she continued to exemplify the values she held dear throughout her life. Wanda and her late husband James owned and maintained farmland in Northern Putnam County. They raised cattle and cultivated hay and other crops. She was a hard worker. Wanda suffered quite a few health issues in her later years, but would resoundingly bounce back. She was as some would say...a tough cookie. She was a quite person watching and observing while caring for others. She always wanted her appearance to be presentable and well kept.

Wanda was an active member of Pippin Church of Christ, finding joy and fulfillment in her faith and fellowship with others. Her life was enriched by her deep connections within the community, and she made a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In her personal life, Wanda cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her sister, Estelle (Paul) Pippin of Cookeville; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Ryan of Plano, Texas; and several nieces and nephews who will carry on her legacy.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, James Darrell Frizzell, who passed away on June 20, 2018; her brother, Truman Bean; and her sisters, Pauline Brown, Anna Jackson, Lillian Phillips, Marie Eckel, Francis Buckner, and Clara Way, all of whom contributed to the love and memories that surrounded her throughout her life.

Special thanks to the staff at Bailey Manor of Cookeville and Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care.
