Wanda Uneda Sullivan, a lady of joy and matriarch of love, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024, at the age of 82, in Cookeville, TN. She was born on July 30, 1942, in Overton County, TN, to the late Edward Odell Moody and Allie Lois Williams Moody.
Wanda, a devoted homemaker and a Christian lady, embraced her faith with grace and dedication. She attended Summerfield United Methodist Church. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, and her ability to light up a room with her humor and friendliness was unmatched.
Her life journey was shared with her beloved husband, the late Charles Albert Sullivan, with whom she traveled, created a home, and built a legacy of love. Together, they navigated the ups and downs of life with unwavering support for one another. Wanda was also preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law, Willard and Eunice Sullivan; brothers-in-law, Bob Williams, John Hood and Joel Sullivan; and by a special friend, Mary Freeman.
The role of mother was one Wanda cherished deeply, and she is survived by her son, Charles "Greg" Sullivan and wife Ginny of Cookeville, who have carried on her legacy of kindness and warmth. Her sister, June Hood, will fondly remember Wanda's laughter and the special times they shared as siblings. Wanda's spirit will continue to resonate through her granddaughter Courtney and her husband Ronnie Jones, as well as through her great-grandchildren, Noah Jones, Jeremiah Solon Jones, and Cason Lane Jones, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Wanda is also survived by a niece, Sherri (Scott) Lytal and by several other nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Sue Sullivan and Zayna (Steve) Cooper, and brother-in-law, Herman (Beverly) Sullivan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy Harris will officiate. Interment will follow in Campground Cemetery in Hilham, TN.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
