It is with profound sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Willene Brewington Jackson, of Cookeville, TN. Willene was born on November 5th, 1942 to the late Lonnie and Lula Mae Randolph Brewington and passed away peacefully on September 29th, 2023 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center, just 18 days since the death of her beloved husband, Harold.
Born and raised in Cookeville, TN, Willene was a beloved figure in her community. She was the cherished wife of the late Harold Everett Jackson, with whom she shared 66 beautiful years of marriage. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Penny) Jackson and Mark Jackson; daughters, Renee (Steve) Huddleston, and Kim (Steve) Van De Voorde; and grandchildren, Haley (Eli) King, Hayden Jackson, Cody Huddleston, Rachel (Dylan) Fisher, Alison (Andrew) Wisdom, Brittany Sparks, Lauren Rice, and Sara Beth Van De Voorde. Her great grandchildren also brought her great joy, Ellery King, Oliver and Eliza Huddleston, Holland and Henry Wisdom, Layna Rice and Fenix Fisher.
Willene was a loving sister to Jimmy (Susan) Brewington, Tootsie Dunn, Judy Hoskins, and Byrda-Mae Steward. She was also a cherished sister-in-law to Hazel Brewington. Willene was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her brother and sister-in-law, Riley (Glenda) Brewington; her brother, JD Brewington; her sister, Dimple Coffee; her twin sister, Eulene Holmes; her brothers-in-law, Ralph Dunn and Jim Hoskins; and her grandson-in-law, Landon Rice.
Willene will be remembered for her abundant generosity, her loving heart, and for her thoughtfulness. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved, and her home was always filled with laughter and warmth. She was fun, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to play practical jokes. In her professional life, Willene was admired for her integrity, hard work, and dedication. She was a respected affiliate broker in the field of real estate, where she helped many families find their dream homes. Her colleagues admired her for her professionalism, her kindness, and her unwavering commitment to her clients.
In her spare time, Willene enjoyed being an member of the Washington Ave Baptist Church and the Cookeville Pilot Club. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and was displayed through her spiritual gift of hospitality.
Funeral services honoring Willene will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday October 3rd at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Gaw and Bro. Kevin Daughrity will officiate. Interment will follow at Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are asked to be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and/or to Lighthouse Christian Camp, 205 Serenity Place, Smithville, TN 37166.
Andrew Wisdom, Dylan Fisher, Clay Van De Voorde, Sterling Sarr, Cody Huddleston, Eli King, Hayden Jackson and Steve Sparks will serve as pallbearers.
