COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - William Glenn Horn, 82, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on May 1, 1943, in Williamson, West Virginia, William led a life defined by service, ambition, and hard work.
At the age of 17, William answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1960. He was stationed in Okinawa during the Cuban Missile Crisis and worked in a missile silo, a time that would shape his life forever. William honorably served until his discharge in 1964.
After his service, William returned to Ohio, where he became known for his entrepreneurial spirit. He built a successful career as a businessman, owning multiple businesses, including endeavors in the fields of insurance, real estate, and a large chain of clothing stores. However, he was perhaps best known for his work as a home builder in the Cookeville area, where he helped shape the community through his craftsmanship and vision.
William enjoyed boating and motorcycles, often taking long rides through the Tennessee hills. He was also a collector of knives, a hobby that allowed him to appreciate the artistry and craftsmanship of unique blades.
He was a loving father to Anthony, Michelle, and Brian Horn, and a grandfather to his cherished grandchildren: Keistyn (Horn) Steward and husband Bradley Steward, and their daughter Capri; Azura Collins; Matias Horn and his son Zandre Gray; Brian “Lil’ B” Horn II; and William Horn II. He is also survived by his sisters, Tammy Draughn and Rhonda Horne, and brothers, Bob Horne, Cecil (Neva) Horne, and Jim (Charlene) Horne.
William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Horn; his great-granddaughter, Remi Steward; and his brothers, Roger Horne and Danny Horne.
Services will be held at 12 PM on September 11th at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Sharp officiating. Family and friends are invited to join us from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Remi’s Garden Foundation.
