Funeral services for Mr. John Wilson Owen, 85 of Cookeville will be held Monday July 9 at 10 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Blair will officiate. Mr. Owen died Friday evening July 6, 2012 in Quality Health Care Center in Lebanon, TN. He was born January 18, 1927 in Wilson County, Tennessee to the late John Robert Edmond and Bessie Patton Owen. He was retired from the former Cookeville Coca Cola Blotting Plant and following retirement worked a number of years for Genco Stamping & Mfg Co. He was a member of Scott Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Elise Johnson Owen and Iva Jewel Daniels Owen; sister, Evelyn Dunn and brother, Richard Owen. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Danny Wilson (Regina) Owen of Emory VA; daughter, Lisa Ellen Cox of Cookeville; seven grandchildren, Amie Owen, Travis Walker, Josh Owen, Daniel Owen, Kaitlyn Owen, Kristin Wilbanks & Joel Owen; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Owen"�s family will receive friends Sunday from 5 pm till 8 pm and Monday from 9 am until service time at the funeral home.
